Frankly, the competition puzzle is a bit of a blur - it went by fast, even for us. As you may expect, it was more lightly, elegantly and usefully clued, and there may have been more back and forth between colouring and shaping snakes. They felt similar enough at the time.
In the unlikely case of revisiting the ruleset, I'd like to try making something leaning more heavily on the parity constraints.
